Staff Position Descriptions

STATION MANAGER

Schedules on-air material with station staff, including music, underwriting, news, and sports. Coordinate: with staff, the annual May Day Music Festival, and other events. Maintain equipment and KSDJ budget. Run weekly staff meetings.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Responsible for hiring of student DJs. Coordinate the training and scheduling of on-air shows. Maintain all station reports and logs.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Responsible for advertising and public relations for KSDJ. Manage website, email, and social media outlets. Promote KSDJ and station events. Design promotional material.

SOUND DIRECTOR

Responsible for tracking station advertising (underwriting) sponsorships and recording underwriting spots to play on KSDJ. The position also records sweeper spots for DJ shows, public service announcements, and promos for station events.

NEWS DIRECTOR

Records a weekly news show and overseas news reporters. Responsible for recording daily news breaks to play on KSDJ.

SPORTS DIRECTOR

Responsible for coordinating broadcasting by KSDJ by Jackrabbit Athletics. This position also produces spots on sports news and overseas sports reporters.

MUSIC DIRECTOR

Responsible for updating music playlist every week. Maintain filing system for all music. Listen to music submissions/requests. Schedule live music events.
