KSDJ 2019-2020 Staff

This year is a mix of old and new faces at KSDJ, all working to make this the best year for the station!

Renae Vinzant - Station Manager

About:

Hello! I’m Renae Vinzant, a senior Advertising major with minors in marketing and social media. As the Station Manager, I’m in charge of maintaining the station. I help set goals with the other directors, plan our events throughout the year, and making sure the station has great content and is moving in a positive direction! Outside of KSDJ, I stay involved on campus with Staters for State, Journalism Club, and Advertising Club.

Best concert I've seen?

Last year I got the chance to see one of my favorite artists, Shania Twain. She put on a great show, and I love basically all of her songs. I also got to go with my dad and sister, so that was really fun!

Logan Haak - Program Director

About:

My name is Logan Haak, and I am a senior Sports and Recreation Management major with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. As the Program Director, I get to work directly with our station’s DJ’s making sure their shows are running smoothly! Outside of KSDJ, I work as a research assistant and serve as the secretary for the Sports and  Recreation Club here at SDSU. I also love being outdoors, as well as being the world's best movie critique (in my own mind at least).

What is your favorite genre of music?

My favorite genre of music will always differ from day-to-day. Music is music, I can't just pick one!

Megan Janssen - Comm. Director

About:

Hi, I’m Megan, a sophomore Communication Studies major with a minor in History and Marketing. At KSDJ, I’m in charge of all things communication and outreach. I get to run the social media sites and update this very website. When I'm not working at KSDJ, I am part of the ASL Club and Jacks Give Back. I also spend my time watching movies with my suitemates and eating ice cream!

What is your favorite band?

My all-time favorite band is the Eagles! They have the coolest sound that is a little bit of country, rock, and more! My favorite song by them is "Take It Easy."

Tori Berndt - News Director

About:

I am the News Director for KSDJ. As the News Director, I put the news on the station daily and try to get interviews with people to get our station’s listeners up to date on current events! I am a Sophomore/Junior Journalism major. I am the Public Relations Director of the journalism club as well. I LOVE food and am always eating, I love to watch and play sports and hang out with friends.

Best concert I've seen?

My favorite concert I have attended was Florida Georgia Line because it was so fun even though we had nosebleed seats. They had an amazing performance which made it fun to watch!

Ben Krueger - Sports Director

About:

As the sports director at KSDJ, my position includes covering all sports news for the radio station here at SDSU as well as doing a talk show every week. I also broadcast live sporting events for the SDSU teams. I am a sophomore majoring in Journalism and Broadcasting, as well as in Communications Studies. My hobby is sports. Everything about sports.

What is your favorite band?

My favorite band of all time is LANY because they have amazing music that isn't well known and a lot of relatable lyrics with a really unique sound.

Hayden Woods- Sound Director

About:

My name is Hayden Woods, and I’m the sound director for KSDJ. I have a lot of experience in the music industry and have worked on many production crews for a lot of different artists. I have an education in audio engineering and am now working on getting my bachelor’s degree in Aviation Education here at SDSU. I love technology and music, so I feel right at home working for KSDJ. If you like airplanes or tech stuff come talk to me!

What is your favorite genre of music?

My favorite genre of music is EDM because it has so many different moods and is really fun to play as a DJ. I like many other genres, but I think electronic music will always have a special place for me.

Jacob Womack - Music Director

About:

My name is Jacob Womack, and I'm the Music Director at KSDJ. Every Friday afternoon, I make sure the latest rock and alternative songs are being put on the air for Brookings to enjoy. I'm a senior Speech Education major. I student teach at BHS, and I'm in both of the fall plays on campus and Jumpin' Jacks Improv. When I get the time, I rock climb at the wellness center, too.

What is your favorite band?

My favorite band is hands-down The Smashing Pumpkins. They were my first big concert, and the array of emotions they can convey in their music is unbelievable.
